Who is Matt?
You landed here because you want to know who Matt Lundquist is and what spurred the start of Lundquist uncut.
Easy, life spurred this venture.
It would be easy to tell you only about my successes and the wisdom I have acquired. However, that is not the full story and is not authentic, nor does it take much courage. Being authentic means owning all parts of ourselves and our experiences, the things we label as “good” as well as the “bad.”
So here I am, and welcome!
As I said above, life allows us to reflect, lean into our roots, and start new ventures. In 2023, I was a ghost of myself. I was merely surviving my work and my marriage, culminating in the spring with my spouse moving out and us separating, ultimately leading to divorce.
I had spent my life checking every box and hitting every goal. I got into a prestigious service academy, was awarded a commission in the US Air Force, and ultimately earned my pilot wings. Getting to fly was a childhood dream. I met the woman of my dreams at my first duty station, and after being separated due to my career and living on other sides of the world while dating, I won her heart, and we got married. She and I lived together in a picturesque apartment in Cambridge, England, all while traveling all over Europe. We found financial freedom, getting out of debt, saving for retirement, and making six figures individually.
So, it should have been the combination of everlasting happiness and joy. Why was I still a ghost and miserable in 2023? These external sources of joy and happiness of a perfect partner & spouse, getting to fly, and material success couldn’t fill a void of internal discontent.
It took the courage of my spouse to leave to see that life is more than surviving. We must seek harmony in internal and external joy and happiness; without one, we are incomplete and not living authentically.
So what happened next?
In 2013, with support from those around me, I started consulting as a mindset coach. I utilised what I had learned from applying the Demartini Method® to my life and to the lives of people around me.
The intention was to be not just another mindset coach. I was inspired to share what I had learned from my digging into philosophy, psychology, mindset, human behaviour, and many other subjects.

The spring and summer of 2023 saw a return to the known, to the sources of internal power and resilience that I had previously found and capitalized on.
I turned back to one-on-one coaching with my mentor, Giorgio Genaus. His unique mindset coaching helped me start to see the holistic perspective of life events, both positive and negative. I also turned back to my faith, utilizing my Christian perspectives and other sources of philosophical and spiritual guidance to see the power of something greater than ourselves.
Most of all, I did the personal work of self-reflection, analyzing my behaviors, beliefs, and identity.
All of this self-work allowed me to learn about and discover Lundquist Uncut, which came from merging two ideas. The first my family roots pun intended since Lundquist in Finnish means “Elm (Lund) + Grove (Quist).” The second idea was the concept of P’u from Toaist teaching, which is the philosophy of leaning into your authentic potential.
These actions combined to allow me to see how, regardless of events, I could generate power, energy, and gratitude in my life when I started with courageous, heart-open authenticity. In this state of authenticity, I found deeper connections in my friendships, reconnections with my family, and appreciation for humanity and others.
The power of 2023 and the rest of my life so far is that it allowed me to find my purpose: to lead others to find their internal power, their power to live authentically, courageously, and with resiliency, just as I led myself.
We can not predict the future, nor can we control it. We cannot influence or control the external world, life, or others. We can, however, find the power within ourselves to experience life on our own terms with joy and gratitude. Joy, love, and peace are not external feelings or gifts that life gives us; they come from us and emanate into the world; we merely receive the reflections of those feelings. Take it from a guy who has earned the wisdom of being authentic, courageous, and resilient the hard way.
With decades of experience as a pilot, mentor, partner, and leader, our best selves, communities, and all relationships start with individuals being their most courageous, authentic selves.
